Established in 2005 by founding trustees Patricia Lin, Catherine Than, Kristy Ton, and Hoang Quan Vu, the Asian American Bar Foundation of Houston (AABF) is the non-profit, charitable, and educational affiliate of the Asian American Bar Association of Houston. The AABF is proud of its past and ongoing efforts to promote the public interest of the Asian American community at large in Houston, Texas.

The AABF provides annual grants to organizations that serve the local Asian American population and summer fellowships to Asian American law students committed to public interest work. The AABF’s grants play a vital role in allowing many worthwhile organizations to provide valuable services to under-served communities; and the AABF’s public interest fellowships enable distinguished law school students to work for local public interest organizations during the summer. These fellowships have been instrumental in encouraging law students to serve underprivileged individuals and communities and in promoting awareness of public interest issues that impact Asian Americans in particular.

In addition to the AABF’s scholarship and grant programs, other programs that are the cornerstones of the AABF’s commitment to making a difference in the local Asian American community include annual wills clinics, immigration and naturalization fairs, other pro bono workshops, and special fundraising events such as golf tournaments and Dim Sum with the Judiciary.

Since its inception, the AABF has distributed over $80,000 in grants to Asian American law students and local Asian American organizations who serve the community and the public interest. With your support, we look forward to increasing our impact in the community even further in the coming years.
